About The Free Design
Hailing from New York, The Free Design were a late ’60s/early ’70s family pop group, releasing eight brilliant albums and influencing countless musicians (Beck, Belle & Sebastian, Cornelius, and Stereolab, to name a few).
Chris, Bruce, Sandy and Ellen Dedrick were brothers and sisters with a singing style that laid the groundwork for all things soft-pop-psych. Fans of The Beach Boys and The Association take note!
